You can be given posthypnotic suggestions to do something against your moral code.
The Truth:
A hypnotized person will not do anything against their will. You are always in control.
You will not do anything you do not want to do. Only suggestions that
fall within your fundamental interests will be followed through into
actual experience.

If I go into trance, I will not wake up.
The
Truth:
Hypnosis is a totally natural recurring state of mind.
No one has ever got stuck in a terminal state of hypnosis.

listening to a tape and the power went out, you would either fall asleep
and wake up naturally, or your subconscious mind would detect that there
is no voice guiding you and bring you to conscious awareness.

Only certain people can be hypnotized.
The
Truth:
Most of us have a
natural ability to enter into hypnosis to some degree, but there are
some exceptions, including certain severely disturbed or psychotic
individuals and the mentally handicapped. Obviously, those who simply do
not want to be hypnotized will also fall into this category.
